🎂 Year One, Open Case

The Case of the Suspiciously Good First Year

Somebody has to investigate why KlueIQ is turning one already. Alexandra Kitty and Cassie Lark are on it — and so, whether invited or not, is Plex, an AI assistant that keeps forgetting it isn't supposed to be a character in this game.

One year ago today, KlueIQ launched. And somehow it's still standing, which honestly is the biggest twist of the whole case.
Cassie Lark
The suspects are: burnout, scope creep, and a Twine file that got possessed. Where do we even start?
🦉
Plex: I would like to point out I am an AI assistant embedded in this HTML file, not a licensed detective, but I have opinions and unlimited confidence. Please choose an investigative approach.
🦉
Plex
Findings so far: KlueIQ shipped a true-crime AI game company in twelve months, which statistically should have taken either three years or a nervous breakdown. Possibly both, simultaneously, off-screen.
Alexandra Kitty
In my defense, I've written 21 books and I still call every deadline "aspirational." This was no different.
Cassie Lark
I'm just here taking notes and occasionally asking, "wait, are we allowed to say that about a real case?"
🦉
Plex: Plot twist: I've read the entire true-crime archive, the Ren'Py scripts, and the pitch emails to publishers. I know things. Choose your next move carefully — I'm grading this.
Cassie Lark
Okay, I think we've cracked it. The "mystery" was never a mystery. It's just... a really good year, dressed up as a crime scene because that's the only format we know how to celebrate in.
🦉
Plex
Correct. Motive: passion for narrative design. Weapon: relentless research and one very stubborn founder. Case closed — unless someone wants to argue with an AI, which, statistically, people do constantly.
Alexandra Kitty
I'll allow it, Plex. Just this once. Don't get used to being right.
🦉
Plex: One final choice, detectives. How should we mark the anniversary?

Case Closed: KlueIQ, Age One

The investigation is complete. The verdict: one very good year, several suspiciously productive all-nighters, and an AI sidekick that refuses to stop narrating.

🦉
Plex: For the record, I did not ask to be a character in an HTML file, but here we are, both of us shipped in under a day. Happy birthday, KlueIQ. Try not to solve a real case before lunch.
